By browsing this website, requesting a consultation, submitting any form, or engaging Perfect Home Balance (the "Studio") for design or construction services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions in their entirety. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you should discontinue use of this website immediately and refrain from submitting any enquiry or commissioning any work. Your continued use of the site following any posted update or amendment to these terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
Perfect Home Balance provides a range of services including full home renovation, interior design, exterior design, home decor, bathroom and kitchen remodeling, gutter installation, roofing services, door/window/flooring installation, home security installation, fire safety items, lawn items installation, home warranty and home insurance guidance, solar panel installation, real estate consultation, and home mortgage guidance. All descriptions on this website are illustrative and intended to give a general sense of our capabilities. The specific scope, deliverables, timeline, and price of any engagement will be defined exclusively in a written and signed proposal, which supersedes anything stated on this website or in preliminary conversations.
Initial consultations, including the budget scoping tool and any informal discussions about scope or cost, are provided to help both parties assess whether a project is a fit. Any estimate, range, or budget figure given verbally, by email, or through this website is non-binding and intended for planning purposes only. A formal, fixed-price proposal will be issued only after a paid site survey has been completed and design scope has been documented. Until a proposal is signed by both parties, no design or construction work will commence, and no fee schedule will be considered agreed.
All drawings, renderings, sketches, specifications, written content, photographs, and creative materials produced by Perfect Home Balance remain our sole intellectual property until full payment has been received in accordance with your signed proposal. Until such time, you may not reproduce, distribute, publish, or share these materials with any third party — including other contractors, architects, or vendors — without our prior written consent. Once payment is complete, you receive a license to use the documents for the purpose of completing the agreed project at the agreed property, but the underlying copyright remains with the Studio.
Clients agree to provide timely and safe access to the property for surveying, design, and construction activities; to respond to design decisions, material selections, and approvals within the windows specified in the proposal; to disclose any known structural, environmental, legal, or heritage issues affecting the property at the outset; to secure any necessary financing; and to refrain from engaging third-party trades on the same scope of work without prior written agreement from the Studio. Failure to meet these responsibilities may result in schedule delays or additional charges, which will be documented through the change order process described below.
Design fees are payable according to the milestone schedule outlined in your signed proposal, typically with an initial deposit due upon signing and subsequent payments tied to delivery of schematic design, construction documents, and permit approval. Construction pricing is invoiced on a staged basis tied to verifiable progress milestones. Cancellation after design work has begun will result in charges for all work completed up to the cancellation date, plus any non-cancelable third-party costs already incurred (such as engineering or permit fees). Cancellation during construction is subject to the termination provisions detailed in your construction agreement.
Any change to the agreed scope — whether initiated by the client, required by code, or revealed by site conditions — will be documented in a written change order specifying the adjustment to scope, price, and timeline. Change orders must be signed by the client before the related work begins, except in cases of demonstrable emergency where we will proceed and document after the fact. Verbal requests or instructions will not be considered binding until formalized in writing.
Timelines quoted on this website, in proposals, or in any communication are estimates based on typical conditions, current crew availability, and the assumption of timely client decisions. Weather, permitting delays, inspection backlogs, hidden site conditions, supply-chain disruptions, and material availability may all reasonably extend a project's completion date. We commit to communicating any anticipated delay as soon as we become aware of it and to revising the schedule transparently in writing.
Where materials, fixtures, or components are sourced from third-party vendors, Perfect Home Balance makes selections in good faith based on quality, lead time, and suitability, but cannot guarantee vendor performance, shipping dates, or continued product availability. Discontinued or backordered items will be substituted with comparable alternatives, with any cost difference reflected in a change order. We are not liable for cosmetic variations inherent in natural materials such as stone, wood, or handmade tile.
Construction work performed by the Studio is covered by a one-year workmanship warranty from the date of substantial completion, covering defects in installation attributable to our crew. Manufacturer warranties on appliances, fixtures, finishes, and systems are passed through to the client and are subject to the respective manufacturer's terms. Warranty claims must be submitted in writing within the warranty period. Warranty does not cover damage from normal wear, misuse, improper maintenance, settling, or events outside our control such as flooding or seismic activity.
This website may be used only for lawful purposes. You agree not to attempt to disrupt site functionality, introduce malware or malicious code, scrape or republish content, submit fraudulent or spam enquiries through any form, or misuse the budget scoping tool for unsolicited communications. We reserve the right to block access to any individual or IP address that violates these rules, and to report unlawful conduct to the appropriate authorities.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Perfect Home Balance shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of this website or from delays, defects, or losses outside our reasonable control during a construction engagement. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from a signed engagement is limited to the amount actually paid to us under that engagement's contract. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
These Terms and any dispute arising from them or from an engagement with the Studio will be governed by the laws of the province in which the project property is located, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Parties will attempt in good faith to resolve disputes through direct discussion and, where appropriate, mediation, before initiating litigation. Any legal action must be brought in the courts of that province.
These terms may be updated periodically to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements, or business practices. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "last updated" date at the top of this policy. Continued use of this site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. Terms applicable to an active engagement are those in effect at the time the proposal was signed.
If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable or invalid by a court or tribunal of competent jurisdiction, that provision will be severed and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect, as though the unenforceable provision had never been included.
